From Road and Track. Acura has been busy beating the life out of the company’s NSX prototype at the Nürburgring, and it looks like the test drivers found the car’s limits. The camouflaged, mid-engine hybrid burned to the ground beside the track.
At this time, no one has any information in regards to the fiery incident that left the NSX tester in a crispy state, but since the front end of the car looks to fairly intact, we assume that the fire originated from the engine compartment.
The NSX has a hybrid powertrain that accommodates a V6 engine with twin-turbos and an electric motor behind the passenger compartment driving the rear wheels through a dual-clutch transmission, and two more electric motors on the other side of the car, each assigned to a front wheel.
